Endless fun, wild adventure, and peaceful relaxation - on Kauai, you can shape each day to match your personal vacation dream. Perhaps you'll take advantage of some of the world's finest beaches, golf courses and restaurants.
Vacationing on Kauai
Kauai, the Garden Isle, is known for its natural beauty and diversity of activity. Enjoy a romantic get-away or a family adventure on this jewel of the Pacific. Check out this video from the Kauai Visitors Bureau for a small taste of what you will find on Kauai and why you'll want to return time and time again!
Art on the Island
Kauai is home to several world-class art galleries. Several communities host art nights or art festivals. One of the largest is the Hanapepe Art Night on Friday evenings from 6 to 9.
Biking / Motorcycle / Car Activities
Get yourself a "set of wheels" and make Kauai the backdrop for an exciting island adventure. We'll help you find the vehicle and terrain that suit your style and mood. You can trek to secluded beaches on a rugged mountain bike, explore the lush Kauaian jungle in an all-terrain vehicle, or take to the streets a Harley Davidson motorcycle or a high-powered Porsche. The options are many and prices vary widely, so check with your PAHIO Conciérge for complete information.
Boat Excursions
The incomparable splendor of the Na Pali coastline is best viewed from the ocean - and that's just one of many reasons for touring the waters around Kauai with an experienced and knowledgeable guide. There's a good chance that dolphins will join you, and humpback whales are easily spotted from December through March. All boat trips depart from Port Allen on the sunny south shore. You can enjoy a romantic sunset sail and some include a snorkeling stop along the way.
Dining
Kauai is a seafood lover's dream, and that's just for starters. Excellent restaurants abound, offering everything from traditional Hawaiian fare to Pacific Rim, Japanese, Italian, Thai, Mexican and American. You'll also find many friendly cafes for casual dining on the go.
Golf
Kauai is home to some of the most exhilarating and challenging golf courses in the world! 18 holes costs from $85 to $130, but special rates are available for PAHIO guests at the Princeville courses. See your PAHIO Concierge for complete information and reservations.
PAHIO guests can also sign up for the PAHIO "Golf Scramble". Check the PAHIO Calendar and contact your Concierge.
Ground Tours
See the island in comfort and style, with nothing to distract you from the gorgeous tropical scenery. A variety of options are available. You can visit locations from some of Hollywood's most popular movies, or explore some of Kauai's best kept secret locales. One of the most popular tours, appropriately named "The Best of Kaua'i", includes a motorboat ride up the Wailua River to the lush Fern Grotto, a brief helicopter trip to see our famous waterfalls, and a visit to the Kilauea Lighthouse and National Wildlife Refuge.
Helicopter Tours
Get a "bird's eye view" of paradise with a personal tour from an experienced, military-trained helicopter pilot. You'll learn about the history and geography of Kauai as you absorb the breathtaking scenery and enjoy the accompanying music. This is the Garden Island's most popular activity - a once in a lifetime experience that you'll always remember.
Horseback Riding
Enjoy leisurely rides through lush, tropical settings. Beginners receive individualized instruction followed by an easy 1-1/2 to 2-hour ride. Other adventures include the 3-hour Anini Bluff and Beach ride. One of the north shore ranches even has a real cattle drive once a week with a limited number of openings for PAHIO guests. Or you might prefer our most popular ride, a 3 to 4 hour excursion to a secluded, natural mountain pool with a cascading waterfall. A hearty lunch and a refreshing swim make for a satisfying afternoon of fun in the sun.
Luau & Dinner Shows
No Hawaiian vacation is complete without a traditional lu'au feast - a festive, all-you-can-eat buffet offering sumptuous fare, such as roasted Kalua Pig, juicy Hawaiian Chicken, fresh island seafood, and much more. You can also count on thrilling Polynesian entertainment and free-flowing MaiTais.
